Amber Medland is a writer whose debut novel, WILD PETS, is being published by Faber & Faber in Summer 2021.
Her work has been compared to both Sally Rooney and Zadie Smith and the novelist Rebecca Godfrey has described WILD PETS as: "a daring, complex page-turner... that brilliantly captures the thrill and fear of a young woman’s pursuit of ideas, art, and desire in the uneasy early days of Trump’s America."
Amber read English Literature at Trinity College, Cambridge and has an MFA in Fiction from New York's Columbia University.
She has written for the London Review of Books, The Telegraph, The Drift and was one of the London Library's debut Emerging Writers. She has also worked as a research assistant to Andrew O'Hagan, Editor at Large of the London Review of Books and as an assistant to the novelist Edna O'Brien.
Amber lives in Brixton and is currently working on her second novel. She is represented by Emma Paterson at Aitken Alexander Associates.
