Amber Medland is a London-based writer whose debut novel, WILD PETS, was published by Faber & Faber in Summer 2021.
Her work has been compared to both Sally Rooney and Zadie Smith. The novelist Rebecca Godfrey has described WILD PETS as: "a daring, complex page-turner... that brilliantly captures the thrill and fear of a young woman’s pursuit of ideas, art, and desire in the uneasy early days of Trump’s America" and The Guardian declared the book "an instant set text of the emerging canon of millennial fiction."
Amber read English Literature at Trinity College, Cambridge and has an MFA in Fiction from New York's Columbia University.
She has written for The London Review of Books, The Paris Review, The TLS, The New Yorker, The FT, The Guardian, The Telegraph, and The Drift. In 2019 she became one of the London Library's debut Emerging Writers.
Amber lives in Brixton and is currently working on her second novel. She is represented by Emma Paterson at Aitken Alexander Associates.
